Just thought I would put out this video for aspiring authors and artists, as we do live in the modern world its not just artists and authors who suffer from prolonged sitting. I used to have a job that demanded that I sit for 12 hours at a time and I did somewhat issues in my neck as a result of improper sitting posture for such long periods of time.
We were meant to do a lot of walking, lots of mobility, I believe that is what our bodies were designed to do, so how do you reconcile this with the hours and hours of sitting it takes to create a book or a new art project when it demands that you sit or tilt your head in very uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time. Why should the majority of authors and artists care about proper posture? I believe, and based on how I work, that you can get more done, write more, draw more, be in front of the computer for such long periods of time with better posture you can certainly increase the amount of words you write or are better able to concentrate as opposed to incorrect or bad posture.
I just thought I’d share a video on sitting from Kelly Starrett on some things that may help with proper sitting posture.
See the video.
