I feel that as authors you will either A.) Eat out a lot or B.) make your own food at home and therefore will require a lot of cooking. The after effects of cooking is having to do a lot of dishes so it is therefore greatly advised to learn how to do dishes in an efficient as possible manner.
My first tip for doing dishes faster, and one that I have found helpful is to first put in all the dishes in the dishwasher that do not require much rinsing. So, for example, if you simply drink water from a mug and place that mug in the sink or on the side, it doesn’t need to be scrubbed or anything before you put it into the dishwasher so you can just either give it a quick rinse or just put it straight into the dishwasher. At least that works well for me.
When I see a big pile of dishes and assuming you have already emptied the dishwasher, I put all the dishes that don’t really need rinsing straight into the dishwasher. That clears up some space and saves water and some time right away. Hope it works well for you guys!
